Shelter House Art Auction

We have a special event this month! There is a charity art auction for Iowa City's Shelter House happening from March 18 through March 22. Bidding begins online with the epic conclusion at an in-person event called Literary Giants. You can find my art among the selection:

Prints of the four pieces above have been donated to the Shelter House Auction. Each piece is a signed, matted, and framed Giclée art print ready for hanging.

Art Reception This Thursday, March 23

My artwork has been hung and is ready for the eyeballs of the public. Come stop by this Thursday, March 23 from 6pm-8pm at Press Coffee and be privy to a rare sighting of my artwork in person. Press Coffee will be open after-hours so you will be able to order a delicious beverage while contemplating how one person can be so obsessed with drawing this many trees with faces.

On display will be a wide range of originals and prints from a span of about 8 years.

We will have the complete collection of my Uncanny Forest series originals on the walls and tables, in addition to prints and other take-home items for purchase.

"Shrumans 2" Mushroom Stickers Released on Etsy

Now that my new Cricut is operational, we will start seeing more stickers! My “Shrumans 2” stickers are a sequel to my “Shrumans 1”, which come both as a set and separately on my Etsy store!

With “Shrumans 2” I wanted to add more emotional range. I take my inspiration from the ridiculous and cute stickers found in Japanese stationery whose mascots have a life of their own. Think Hello Kitty and Sanrio, but there are far weirder and creative mascots out there. It’s more challenging to get characters to be expressive when they are rendered more realistically, but I think my experiment was successful in finding a balance!
